The regional cycle tour "Around the Lürwald" starts in Wickede (Ruhr) and initially leads eastwards along the Ruhr Valley cycle path. This section reveals the former moated castle of Echthausen, a privately owned listed manor house that characterizes the historical backdrop of the region.
Along the renaturalized Ruhr, past Haus Füchten, the route reaches Hüsten, Arnsberg. There, the route branches off southwards, crosses the Ruhr and heads towards Herdringen. A striking point is the ascent to the historic Oelinghausen monastery, whose alternative cycle path access has more challenging topographical features.
The route continues through the Bieberbach valley, passes the Biebertal leisure center and reaches Lendringsen. Along the Hönne, the tour reaches Menden and Bösperde. Before Fröndenberg, the route turns onto a section of the former Zabel route, parallel to the B7. Here you pass the Beringhof estate and a sheep farm before reaching the Ruhr bridge in Wickede (Ruhr).
The final passage through the town center completes the multifaceted exploration "Around the Lürwald" at the starting point.
