The dam wall tour begins at the imposing structure of the dam wall. Crossing the top of the wall reveals the impressive dimensions and a comprehensive view of the lake and the adjacent equalizing pond. A large part of the municipality of Möhnesee lies within the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, whose diverse ecosystems are both scenic and ecologically significant. The route leads directly into the Hevearm and Hevesee nature reserve, which serves as a habitat for numerous water birds and is an important migration and wintering area. The Heve peninsula offers far-reaching insights into the specific fauna and flora from several nature balconies. Information stations along the water and forest nature promenade also shed light on the region's history. The return to the dam wall is via the Delecker Bridge. In Delecke, there is a public bathing area with a sunbathing lawn where you can take a refreshing dip. For an alternative view of the striking dam structure, we recommend a detour to the compensation pond. The Landscape Information Center (LIZ) in Günne is also located on this section and provides detailed information about the Möhne Dam and the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. A boat trip on the MS Möhnesee is an enrichment of the cycle tour. The route leads along the landing stages of the catamaran, and there are various places to stop for refreshments along the way, making for a pleasant break.

Information

Directions

We start the tour at the dam wall. After pushing the bike over the crest and enjoying the view, we cycle along the south side of the lake. The Hevearm and Hevesee nature reserve is on our left. We cross the Heve dam. Now we cycle along the shore of the Heve peninsula, passing the stations of the Water and Forest Nature Promenade and the viewing balconies. We cross the Delecker Bridge and return to the north side. At the traffic circle, we turn left and return to the dam wall, passing the lido and perhaps taking a short dip. The boat moorings are at the dam wall, on the banks of the Heve peninsula and on the north side of the Delecker bridge, so that a boat trip can be optimally incorporated into this tour.junctions: 75-74-73-71-75
