The regional cycle tour "Historic pass routes across the Teutoburg Forest" starts in Horn-Bad Meinberg and takes in natural sections and farm tracks that lead to the Silberbach valley. From this point, forest paths run along the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest and the Eggegebirge, which forms the watershed between the Weser and the Rhine. The route continues along a medieval Hellweg route towards Neuenbeken on the western edge of the mountains. The route then leads down to Bad Lippspringe, where you can explore the source of the River Lippe and some remarkable parks. The route continues along hidden paths through the flat cultural landscape of the Senne to Fürstenallee, where the historic Kreuzkrug inn is ready for a stop. From here, the route climbs back up to the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest along natural roads, followed by a descent to the Hangstein inn above Berlebeck. Another option is the nearby Berlebeck Eagle Observatory before returning to the starting point via smaller sections of road and through the fields.
