The Rote Bärentour forms part of the MTB route network in Willingen. The comprehensive networking and clear signposting of these routes makes it possible to adapt flexible route guidance during the ride. The route profiles serve as orientation points, whereby individual fitness and riding ability may vary. A guide is recommended. The use of a mountain bike is obligatory. Please note that sections of the route may be shared with pedestrians or other road users. Riding the routes is at your own risk. The start of the Red Bear Tour is marked with a black sign and leads over the Orenberg. One section includes a significant incline that may require you to push your bike. This is to be considered an integral part of a challenging mountain bike experience. In terms of fitness, the Red Bear Tour is more demanding than the Black Bear Tour, but is less technically demanding.

Directions

The red bear tour is marked in black at the start and takes us over the Orenberg with a very, very steep ascent where you will probably have to push for about 200 meters. But that's part and parcel of a proper mountain bike tour.The reward is a flowing, slightly downhill single track through the forest. At the Schwalefeld lift junction, we follow the red bear symbol.Our route takes us to Schwalefeld and through the Aartal valley to Willingen. Shortly after Schwalefeld there is a small playground with a bike course where the kids are sure to have lots of fun. We leave the Aartal valley via a small stream that can be ridden through and a longer, rideable climb. From the entrance to Stryck, you have to reckon with car traffic.

Equipment

We recommend a helmet, functional cycling clothing suitable for the weather, a rucksack with food and drink, sufficient fluids (water, tea), an air pump, a repair kit and a multi-tool.
