The regional cycle tour "Marsberg-Diemelsee" starts in Marsberg, a town rich in historical heritage. This includes the historic Obermarsberg, situated on a hill, fragments of the old town wall, various monuments and the Kilianstollen visitor mine. The route initially follows the Diemel cycle path, passes through Padberg and reaches the dam wall after Helminghausen. From this point, a comprehensive view of the Diemelsee opens up. The route leads along the eastern side of the lake to Heringhausen, where there are various opportunities to take a break. The tour then leaves the Diemel cycle path and leads via the villages of Rhenegge, Adorf, Borntosten and Leitmar back to Marsberg, completing the circular route.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerland district, Märkischer district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the South Westphalia cycle network.
