The Möhnequelle, an integral part of the Möhne Valley Cycle Route, which officially starts at Brilon-Stadt station, offers an attractive extension to the tour. There is the opportunity to stop for refreshments along the route. The final section to the spring involves a climb of around 200 meters on foot with a noticeable gradient.

Directions

Climbing out of the train, the actual Möhne Valley cycle path turns off to the right (follow the signs). The path to the Möhne spring leads to the left until Bahnhofstraße meets Keffelker Straße. Cross this road and turn into Galmeistraße at the railroad tracks (which are then on the left). Follow Galmeistraße until after 800 m you turn right into Ammertenbühl. Follow this road to the end until you cross Hoppecker Straße and cycle a short distance along the Rothaarsteig above the hospital. In the street Am Schönschede, leave the eye clinic on the left and the Hotel Hellhohl on the right and after 300m turn left into the path above the Kurpark (the Kurparkhütte is already signposted there). After 600m you reach the Kurparkhütte. Follow the Rothaarsteig sign (lying white R on a red background) to the Möhne spring.
