MTB - Mollseifen & Hesborn Forest No. 12

The mountain bike tour "Mollseifen & Hesborner Wald No. 12" is designed as a circular route and leads from Winterberg past the Kahler Asten to the Landwehr. The route runs downhill to Neuastenberg and then climbs back up to Mollseifen. On the way, you have the opportunity to pass the source of the Lenne at Kahler Asten. The route continues through dense coniferous forest and has mainly downhill sections as far as Züschen. There, the route briefly follows the Nuhne before climbing the ridge between Liesen and Züschen. The route continues through agricultural land to Hesborn and then directly back into the forest towards Kleiner and Großer Bromberg. After a long descent, the tour reaches its lowest point before leaving the Orketal valley at Ehrenscheider Mühle. An initially very steep and extended ascent leads back to Winterberg and the Bremberg, bringing this varied mountain bike experience in the Sauerland to a close. There are opportunities to stop for refreshments along the route.

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.

The mountain bike tours of the Bike Arena Sauerland are checked twice a year.

A break on the Kahler Asten or a visit to the Kappe adventure mountain in Winterberg are well worthwhile.

Take the train from Kassel and change at Bestwig or take the Sauerland Express from Dortmund to Winterberg station.
