The mountain bike tour, designed as a circular route, starts at Bremberg and leads along the Kurweg towards Altastenberg. Along this section, the use of the trail requires careful consideration for other recreationists. After reaching Altastenberg, the frequency decreases and the route extends to the Großer Bildchen. The section before this point is characterized by a marked gradient, which indicates an adapted riding style and makes it necessary for less suitable bike types to dismount. The route then leads through the Nordenau forest, downhill to Nordenau and on over a ridge to the lowest point of the tour in Westfeld, where there are opportunities for a rest. The following ascent is initially moderate along the Lenne before becoming more challenging at Hoher Knochen. At the summit of the Kahler Asten, you finally reach the Kurweg again, which allows you to return to Winterberg.

Public transit

You can usually reach Winterberg quickly and easily by train. From Hagen, for example, there are connections every hour, from Kassel every 2 hours. The journey from Dortmund to Winterberg and vice versa takes just 104 minutes. Six times per working day or twelve times on Saturday or Sunday. Information about the door-to-door luggage service is available at all DB sales outlets.

From the north: A7 Hamburg-Hannover - A2 Bielefeld - A33 Paderborn - exit Wünnenberg, direction Brilon > Olsberg > Winterberg


From the south: A5 Frankfurt-Giessen - exit Marburg, direction Allendorf > Winterberg


From the west: A44 Dortmund-Kassel - exit Werl junction, direction A46 Arnsberg > Meschede > Bestwig > Olsberg > Winterberg


From the east: A44 Kassel-Dortmund - exit Zierenberg, direction B251 Korbach > Medebach > Winterberg

Parking

You will find plenty of parking spaces at the Bremberg parking lot, otherwise drive a little further towards the town, where you will find various other parking spaces.
