Racing bike - Diemelsee-Runde

The Diemelsee road bike circuit starts at the visitor center in Willingen and first leads to Usseln. From there, an extended descent begins, leading to the turn-off to Eimelrod. After crossing the center of the village of Deisfeld, there is another long descent via Benkhausen to Adorf. The rest of the route is characterized by undulating passages, which structure the return to the Upland region via Sudeck and Rhenegge. A central feature of this regional cycle tour is the bypass of the Diemelsee lake in Heringhausen, along the banks of which there are a variety of places to stop for a welcome break. The entire route is accompanied by the imposing backdrop of the foothills of the Hochsauerland, whose elevations create an impressive scenery. The end of the tour is at the foot of the Ettelsberg massif, whose striking high heath tower towers above the surrounding area. Finally, the facilities in Willingen offer excellent options for regeneration and for discussing past experiences. This is the perfect preparation for further road bike rides in Upland. The circuit is characterized by long, flowing downhill sections, which are accentuated by well-placed, challenging climbs.
