The Schmallenberger Dörfertour starts in Schmallenberg and first leads along the Philosopher's Path, which passes the former cutlery factory in Fleckenberg. After passing through the town, the route runs along the Lenne to the village of the same name. The trail extends through the charming Uentroptal valley to above Fleckenberg, from where there are far-reaching views. After a passage on flatter sections, you reach Grafschaft with its remarkable monastery. The ascent to Almert requires a few meters of elevation gain, followed by a descent to Oberkirchen. The route continues along the Lenne valley to Gleidorf, from where it branches off to Holthausen, another half-timbered village. A separate cycle path leads to Bad Fredeburg, where the route connects to the Sauerland cycle ring. This is followed downhill to the starting point of the circular tour.
