The cycle tour "Kleine Runde um den Hennesee" leads along the lakeshore. One section of the route uses the hard shoulder of the B55 federal highway; an independent cycle path is currently not implemented in this area. The opposite side of the lake, on the other hand, is paved throughout and closed to motor vehicles. This circular tour provides a comprehensive exploration of the water landscape in the Hochsauerland district. Along the route, the sensory trail, Berghauser Bucht for water sports activities and the "Piratenbucht" adventure playground provide relevant points of reference. There is also the opportunity to stop for refreshments, and good public transport connections are guaranteed.

Information

Directions

From the parking lot, we head towards Hennedamm. From the platform above the Himmelstreppe, we have wonderful views over the district and university town of Meschede. We cross the dam and follow the path to the right along the lakeshore. Now we cycle approx. 7 km on the asphalted, car-free lakeside path. Once in Mielinghausen, we cross the foredam and then follow the B55 along the lakeshore to Berghausen. Here we turn right and reach Berghauser Badebucht. From here, the path is car-free again. There is a large adventure playground with a kiosk in Berghauser Bucht. After approx. 1.5 km we reach our starting point again.
