The region between the mountain ranges of the Sauerland and the Münsterland park landscape, including the Hellwegbörde and the Lippe valley, presents itself as an attractive area. Its largely flat yet diverse topography creates favorable conditions for cyclists. Along the historic Hellweg, a fertile Bördeland landscape opens up, characterized by farmsteads and historically grown settlements. The route leads through meadow and floodplain landscapes, accompanied by rivers, and reveals not only natural features but also historical buildings: castles, imposing church buildings, picturesque alleyways and half-timbered houses in the characteristic Westphalian architectural style are all part of the exploration. There are various places to stop for refreshments along the route. These range from established inns to rural inns housed in traditional farm cottages that invite you to stop for a bite to eat.
