The starting point of this regional cycle tour is at Neheim-Hüsten railroad station. The initial sections of the route cross the Rumbecker Forst forest and run along the west side of the Ruhr. Cyclists pass the Neheim outdoor pool and cycle through the districts of Bergheim, Bachum and Voßwinkel. The Arnsberg-Menden airfield is a visual landmark on the right. The Höllinghauser Heide then opens up before the trail leads to the Voßwinkel wildlife forest, which offers a natural experience. The route continues past Höllinghausen Castle and follows a section of the L 732. A bridge crossing over the Ruhr leads cyclists to the historic Haus Füchten. The circular route is completed by riding along the Ruhr Valley cycle path on the eastern bank of the Ruhr before returning to the starting point in Neheim. Along the way, there are various opportunities for refreshments in local restaurants. The flat profile of the route also ensures a relaxed exploration for different levels of ability.

Safety guidelines
A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerland district, Märkischer district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the South Westphalia cycle network.
Author Tip
In addition to the cycling pleasure, the wild forest is the attraction of this tour. There is hardly a more intense way to experience nature and animals. The philosophy is: no fences between humans and animals.
