The Winterberg-Hallenberg loop is a varied regional cycle tour in the Hochsauerland region, which impresses with its diverse topography and scenic beauty. The starting point in Winterberg marks the beginning of a route that initially follows the R47 cycle path along the B 236 and approaches the striking summit of the Kahler Asten. A separate path to the Kahler Asten tower offers the opportunity for a panoramic view before the course leads back to the main path. From the Helleplatz parking lot, the route runs along path W3, through dense forest areas, with a brisk descent down to the tranquil village of Züschen, where it joins the Nuhnetal cycle path. This section is characterized by a continuous descent that leads cyclists into the immediate vicinity of Hallenberg. At this point, the tour takes a turn with a challenging climb towards Hesborn, using cycle paths H2, R49 and W3. After passing the Hohe Schlade hiking parking lot and crossing under the Bollerbergturm tower, the ascent continues on the forest paths of the Hesborner Weg (W2), which gradually leads back to Winterberg. During this section, there are repeated wide views over the characteristic low mountain range landscape. Shortly before the finish in Winterberg, cyclists can enjoy an impressive panoramic view from the radio tower on the Kreuzberg, which allows them to take in the cityscape of Winterberg and the surrounding mountains of the Hochsauerland in all their splendor. Along the entire route, there are a variety of places to stop for refreshments, inviting you to take a refreshing break in the midst of nature.
