The high plateau tour from Willingen is an extensive cycle tour to the west, deep into the Westphalian Sauerland. It leads across three striking high plateaus and offers a harmonious sequence of forest roads, challenging forest paths and trails. The route is characterized by a diverse landscape of dense fir forests, sparse beech groves and wide plateaus with characteristic heather. The final section of the tour leads over the Ettelsberg back to Willingen. Here, cyclists have a variety of options for finishing the tour individually, whether on established forest trails or more challenging freeride sections. In the center of Willingen, there is a wide range of restaurants and cafés to relax in after the ride. The high plateau circuit has established itself as a popular tour suggestion, which was originally published in a specialist magazine.
