The Biber Valley and the renaturalized Möhne are well worth a detour.

How to get there


  • From the north: Hanover-Nord junction via the A2 towards Bielefeld/Dortmund as far as the Bielefeld junction - A33 towards Paderborn as far as the Salzkotten exit, then take the L776 towards Büren/Rüthen

  • From the south and east: Take the A44 Kassel-Dortmund to the Büren/Rüthen exit, then take the L776 towards Rüthen

  • From the west: Via the A44 Dortmund-Kassel, exit Anröchte onto the B55, after approx. 8 km turn left onto Effeln - Menzel - Rüthen
