The Bestwig Beer Tour, a challenging road bike route, reveals the scenic diversity of the Hochsauerland district. The route first leads through Warstein, a town with a historic brewing tradition, and then opens up the expanses of the Arnsberg Forest before making its way into the Rur valley near Freienohl. After passing through Grevenstein, another center of the art of brewing in the Sauerland, the route circles the imposing Homert massif, followed by the course along the Salweytal valley to the Wennetal valley. A challenging topography characterizes the section to Oesterberge and the Rimberg, characterized by striking differences in altitude. Finally, an extended descent via Bödefeld and the Valmetal valley allows you to return to Bestwig.

The road bike tours of the Bike Arena Sauerland run on roads where motorized traffic is to be expected.

Author Tip

After many climbs over the Sauerland hills, the long descent from Rimberg to Bestwig is a real treat.
