Racing bike - Between Rothaar and Hawerland

The tour, starting in Kirchhundem, provides an initial opportunity to acclimatize before the ascent to the Rhein-Weser-Turm is the first significant topographical challenge and involves crossing the continental divide between the Rhine and Weser. A dynamic descent is followed by a recovery phase in the Eder valley, which provides participants with new strength for the subsequent, renewed conquest of the Rothaargebirge. The route is characterized by an initially steep, later moderate ascent from Aue-Wingeshausen to Schmallenberg-Jagdhaus. There are various places to stop for refreshments in this area to restore your energy reserves. A brisk passage then leads towards Fleckenberg, with a striking hairpin bend marking the transition into the charming Uentroptal valley and guiding the route to Lenne. This is followed by a compact but intense climb through Harbecke to a striking wind turbine. From this point, a sweeping panoramic view opens up over the Hawerland. The descent to Werpe is at a fast pace. The sections via Bracht and a serpentine descent to Oedingen offer more relaxed terrain, followed by a flatter passage to Oberelspe. The final ascent leads to Halberbracht. The following section between Altenhundem and Kirchhundem allows you to round off the sporting effort.
