The road bike tour starts in Hallenberg and initially runs moderately through the Nuhnetal valley to Züschen. There are only minor topographical challenges to overcome as far as Girkhausen. Immediately before Bad Berleburg, the route branches off to the left, followed by the most striking uphill section to Wunderthausen. The route then allows a quick return to Hallenberg, the starting point of the circular tour. Refreshment stops are available along the way.

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.

Safety guidelines

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.

Public transit

From Hagen, for example, there are connections every hour, from Kassel every 2 hours. The journey from Dortmund to Winterberg and vice versa takes just 104 minutes. Six times per working day or twelve times on Saturday or Sunday. From Winterberg station, take the S 50 line to Hallenberg.
