The Plettenberg Two Thousand road bike tour begins with a challenging climb to Windhausen. This is followed by a significant climb towards Sonneborn, which is considered the most challenging section of the route. After a descent behind Heggen, there is another steep climb to Dünschede before the route takes on an undulating profile. Crossing the Apollmicke pass brings you briefly closer to the Biggesee. Further topographical variations characterize the riding experience around Drolshagen before the Listersee comes into view. The final, extended descent leads back to Plettenberg and completes this challenging circular tour.

Safety guidelines

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
