The road bike tour starts in Neuenrade and leads along the B229 towards Arnsberg. After passing the villages of Langenholthausen and Mellen, the route reaches Langscheid. The promenade there offers an appealing backdrop for a short break, with a far-reaching panoramic view of the Sorpesee for relaxation. After crossing the dam, the route runs along the forest side to Amecke. The return route leads from Amecke through the picturesque Dieken valley and Affeln to reach the starting point in Neuenrade again.

Equipment

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.

Safety guidelines

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.

Public transit

Take the Neuenrade-Unna regional train to Neuenrade station or take the train to Werdohl station and from there take bus no. 60 to Neuenrade

How to get there

Leave the highway 45 at junction 14 - Lüdenscheid - and turn right towards Werdohl. Follow the B229 for approx. 15 km until you reach Neuenrade.


Coming from the A46, leave the highway at junction 46 - Arnsberg-Hüsten - and follow the B229 for approx. 30 km to Neuenrade.
