The start of the road bike tour in Winterberg begins in Altastenberg with a long descent past the Großer Bilchen and through the Sorpetal valley. Via Grafschaft and Fleckenberg, a long ascent characterized by serpentines is then completed through the Rothaargebirge mountains into the Edertal. The route then runs flat for a few kilometers along the Eder to Bad Berleburg. A targeted section through the Wittgensteiner Land leads the riders back to the Sauerland. From Hallenberg, the route gradually opens up towards Medebach Bay, with the landscape becoming increasingly wide and gentle. After Berge, cyclists can expect a long climb up the Schlossberg near Küstelberg. Although Winterberg is already in sight, the tour concludes with an additional section via Grönebach before returning to the starting point.
