The Winterberg Epic - REMBE-rad-net Pro Cycling™ Sauerland Challenge starts in the dynamic town of Winterberg. The route begins with a gentle descent that leads into challenging climbs. This circuit is characterized by constant topographical changes that demand both physical fitness and technical cycling expertise. The route stretches through the charming landscape of Olsberg and continues to Willingen (Upland), where the challenging climbs continue. In addition to the sporting challenges, the route offers far-reaching panoramic views of the surrounding region. One striking point is the ascent to the Ettelsberg, which is a significant challenge to overcome at over 700 meters above sea level. After the Ettelsberg, the trail leads through picturesque villages and quiet forest areas, which offer the opportunity to regenerate before more energy-sapping passages have to be tackled. The final section leads back to Winterberg and provides a worthy conclusion to the tour. The Winterberg Epic offers a challenging road cycling experience that requires a comprehensive test of physical condition and technical skills. At the same time, the tour allows you to take in the impressive natural scenery of the Sauerland in all its glory.

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
