The Charlottenquelle, which was converted into a drinking water spring in 1878, was named in honor of Deaconess Charlotte from the children’s sanatorium. The brine spring, which contains hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, served as a drinking source for spa guests and was available to them as a natural remedy. Today, it is part of the “Sassendorfer Salzspuren,” a historical walking tour through Bad Sassendorf.
