The regional cycle tour "Between Lenne and Repe" starts in Lennestadt-Altenhundem and leads along the SauerlandRadring to Grevenbrück. From there, the route branches off into the Veischedetal valley, ascending via Bilstein. The medieval Bilstein Castle from the 12th century rises impressively here, a striking landmark of the region. The route continues on a cycle path that leads cyclists via Kirchveischede to Oberveischede. This is followed by an extended, relaxed descent. From Mecklinhausen, the route crosses the idyllic Repetal valley, whose high-quality restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat. At Borghausen, the circular tour rejoins the SauerlandRadring, which leads back to the starting point in Altenhundem.

Safety guidelines

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerland district, Märkischer district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the South Westphalia cycle network.

Author Tip

Bilstein Castle and the Galileo Park in Lennestadt-Meggen are definitely worth a visit.
