After the start at Lennestadt-Altenhundem station, the route begins with a moderate roll-in phase via Kirchhundem to Oberhundem. This is followed by the striking serpentines that cross the Rhine-Weser watershed and lead to the eastern side of the Rothaargebirge. The route then follows the Eder towards Bad Berleburg. From Aue-Wingeshausen, there is a long climb via Jagdhaus, which marks the return to the Sauerland side of the mountains. This challenge has already been mastered by professional cyclists during the 2008 Tour of Germany. A dynamic descent opens up the valley of the Lenne towards Schmallenberg. The passage through Haverland is characterized by a wide, undulating landscape. The route then leads via Oedingen and Elspe, famous for the Karl May Festival, back to the starting point in Altenhundem. There are various opportunities for a gastronomic stop along the route.
