The road bike route through the Sorpetal to Altastenberg presents a challenging topography. The initial ascent is moderate, but gradually leads through characteristic villages. From Rehsiepen onwards, the gradient intensifies, accompanied by an increase in bends. In the area of the little picture, marked by a wayside shrine near the hiking parking lot, the trail branches off to Altastenberg. After a sharp left-hand bend, a wide landscape with extensive panoramic views opens up. The continuation of the ascent through Altastenberg leads to the culmination point. From there, you have the option of cycling to the highest point in North Rhine-Westphalia that can be reached by road bike, the Kahler Asten, which presents an additional challenge.
